SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – Western Mass is no stranger to food insecurity, and come the holidays, that issue grows even more. Western Mass News got answers on how one school in our area is helping battle food insecurity. “I really want to have some food for my family so we can have enough to eat,” DeBerry student Adabel Chilel shared. “I plan to share with my family, and also maybe give some macaroni and cheese for my birds a little,” fellow student Naylianie Garcia added. 482 students at DeBerry Elementary School are going home with care packages of food over winter break.
