Youth at Robinson Gardens make milk jug planters to start their favorite seeds. The milk jug provides a warm and moist environment for the seeds to germinate and sprout. In Springtime, the seedlings will be transplanted in the garden.

Youth at Christina’s House sow their winter seeds.

They also made a Winter Sowing Guidebook to share with others!

Tending

Youth at The Gray House transplant squash and herb seedlings that were donated by Garden’s Dream in Enfield, CT.

Participants snacked and also got to take fresh pico de gallo home with them!

Fresh picked green beans for dinner!

Christina’s House holds their first annual cook-off! All dishes include ingredients from the garden. The winner? Chocolate kale smoothies! Close second? Buffalo chicken.
