SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – As many throughout western Massachusetts grapple with food insecurity, one organization is working to make a difference. Sunday was Rachel’s Table’s Outrun Hunger event at 9:00 a.m. at Forest Park. This Outrun Hunger brought together over 100 runners and walkers for a 5K race and a 1-mile fun walk, and contributions from the race will go directly towards Rachel’s Table services and programming, which helps facilitate the distribution of 760,000 pounds of food donated and delivered annually to those in need.
